I’ve been watching Outlander on Amazon Prime and reading the first of the series of books it’s based on, about a woman from the 1940s who suddenly falls through a hole in time and finds herself in the Scottish Highlands in the 1740s.  I feel here as though I’ve fallen through a hole in time and replaced her in the 1940s!!  The hair and the swimsuit are just so gorgeously retro.  Maybe I should audition for the Andrews Sisters 🙂

It’s always sad when place disappear in Second Life, especially when you’ve only just discovered them. Yesterday I was as usual looking for photogenic spots for this blog when I found a link to The Trace only to arrive and find a notice saying that the sim was going to close tomorrow (November 5). That’s really sad as it has a beautiful calm atmosphere that you don’t find in many places.

In the little chapel by the lake I found a lovely location for my first shot. I’m wearing a recent release from coldLogic and it really is one of my favourite purchases from them – a gorgeous black suede leather mini dress with optional sleeves. The texture is amazing, and it feels clingy yet soft, emphasizing my curves in all the right ways unlike some leather dresses. It felt right to be  dark for this shoot so I got the onyx version of the Layla hair from D!va (yes, I know I wear D!va hair all the time now but that’s because it’s good!).

For the second pic I wandered down to the lake shore, turned the lighting down, put on a body light (yes, I know I shouldn’t!), and set the shot off against the shooting stars. I’ll miss this place even though I only came once.
